National Accreditation Scheme for Safety & Health
The National Accreditation Scheme for Safety & Health is a discretionary scheme designed and developed over many years by Envirotec, one of the country’s foremost Health & Safety Consultancies. The scheme has been described by the managing director of a major construction company as a ‘win, win, win’ situation
a win for the main contractor, a win for the contractor and a win for across the board improving Health& Safety on any construction site.
NASSH is tailored to meet the different requirements of the construction industry. Private
and low cost housing, general construction and civil engineering sites.
The NASSH Scheme is founded on the basic premise of ensuring that contractors working for main contractors are complying with and continue to comply with all the encompassing and continually changing Health & Safety Legislation.
The NASSH Scheme is initiated normally by the main contractor sending out letters to its preferred contractors informing them that they have implemented the NASSH Scheme which requires that a Health & Safety audit be carried out on their company by a NASSH assessor.
The audit is carried out at a pre- determined cost and is conducted in an informal and friendly manner to establish if the comply with the conditions of the scheme.
In the case of noncompliance the contractor should take advice on the technical requirements of the scheme from their competent Health & Safety advisor. Should the contractor not have such advice available they may be able to obtain advice from any trade or professional body of which they are a member.
Envirotec can provide advice via email enquiries to email@example.com
Contractors who are found to be fully compliant can immediately become members of the Scheme.
